First of all, we apologize that it is so long since we updated our blog! Our desire is to update it weekly and we try to do that but this time it has slipped through the net-sorry! Thank you for being patient with us!We had a good time in South Africa!! We were overwhelmed when we collected our post and received lots of wonderful parcels & cards!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! We all had a great time opening them & enjoying the goodies inside!! It was also good to have some time out, get the car repaired (clutch had to be replaced) and also get some supplies.
When we returned to Maputo both Abigail & Joshua became really unwell. Joshua had diarrhea, hoarse voice, no energy & was not eating or sleeping well. Abigail had a flare up & was coughing badly & not sleeping or eating properly! I have to admit those days and nights were really hard which intensified homesickness! We were not getting sleep & it is very difficult to function especially in another culture with a different language! We took both Abigail & Joshua to the hospital where they found out Abigail had a chest infection so was put on antibiotics. They didn't really know why Joshua was unwell which was quite disconcerting. We then battled with Abigail to get all of the medication into her-antibiotic, malaria medication, syrup for her cough, inhaler & paracetamol. Thank you for your prayers!! It is at times like this that we really value them even more than normal.
At the end of last week and this week things have really improved-praise God!! We thank God for our medical friends in Ireland who are always at hand to give us advice and reassurance. We thank God for your prayers-we couldn't be here without them!! Abigail's cough has improved wonderfully. She isn't walking independently but loves to walk holding someones hand! Joshua is back to his usual self-full of energy and picking up anything he can get his hands on and transporting it elsewhere!! He is walking confidently! Continue to pray for good health for the twins!
Tomorrow I start Portuguese classes again. Melvin is in the midst of finishing projects at the Seminary and also here on the property. A couple from the States arrived this week to teach at CAM school so their house is being prepared! We had a Mozambican couple, Juca & Elena & their daughter Milka, here yesterday for lunch. They are Mozambican missionaries to their own people in the north of Mozambique. It was lovely to spend time with them & pray together before they return to the north this week-please pray for them!
May God bless you abundantly today for your part in building God's Kingdom here! Lots of love from us all!

What a lovely picture of all of you. I can definitely see that Joshua is the more outgoing one and all boy. Abigail appears a little more reserved. They are growing & I know hard to keep up with. I am so glad that they are both over their ills. Had to be a difficult time.....you are ever in my prayers.
are you getting better now? Pei Pa Koa (www.geocities.jp/ninjiom_hong_kong/index_e.htm ) is one of the few Chinese natural cough remedies that have been scientifically studied. it's something like herb plus honey, and it's sweet, thick and black in color. If you have a cough, look for it! It used to be one of my favourite natural cough remedies.
if your cough persists, seek professional help such as traditional Chinese medicine physicians - I have had very good experiences with them.
