Birthday Party

Last Saturday we attended a 2nd Birthday Party for Belarmino's son. Belarmino is our friend, one of the leaders of the Khongalote Church and the supervisor of the CAM building project. It was a privilege to participate in the celebrations but also a real cultural experience. The party took place in front of his house. They erected a covering and there was lots of prayer, singing, presenting of gifts and food!!

There was such a spread of food which was all delicious but there was not much thought for health and safety. We were praying much that the twins would not fall into the open fires. Mozambican children are accustomed to their families cooking outside but not our children.

Joshua found a plastic spoon and was having great fun lifting sand from the ground and throwing it in the air!

Abigail took great interest in the little dog.

Abigail also had great fun playing with the children. Thank you so much for your prayers for our children. We realise when we go to these events that our culture is so different from that in Mozambique. Our children were filthy at the end of the day and were eating with dirty hands despite our attempts to try to clean them, however they did not become ill in the following days-Praise God!!
