His Compassions Never Fail

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3 v 22-23

Truly, because of His great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Though we often fail and sometimes wonder how we could be worthy of His love it is reassuring to mediate on the Lord's compassion which is new every morning!

  1. He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
    He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
    To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
    To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.
  2. When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
    When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
    When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
    Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
  3. Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
    Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
    Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
    The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
  4. His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
    His power no boundary known unto men;
    For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
    He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

When we have felt exhausted and discouraged.  When we have felt empty and broken we take comfort in the Lord's great love!  Pray that as we seek Him, we will be guided step by step.  Pray that nothing will cause us to lose focus for what the Lord called us to.  Oh that we would become more and more Christ-like as we live for Him.  Satan's tactics are subtle.  He takes great joy in using a word spoken to discourage or stop us from fulfilling what the Lord has prepared for us.

Today we remember especially the leadership of the Living Word Evangelical Church.  The 5th November marks the first anniversary of the first consecration of Pastors and Deacons for the denomination.

A month ago, I (Melvin) had the privilege of accompanying my Mozambican brothers to show the Jesus film in Matchovana, a church plant in a rural community about an hour from Maputo.  Pray that as the good seed is sown, it will fall on good ground and bear much fruit.

It was such a blessing to have our Pastor, Neil Watson from Antrim, Northern Ireland visit us for the first two weeks in october.  We were especially blessed by his teaching.  On the saturday before he left, he shared three challenging messages from Nehemiah 1-3.  Thank you Neil.

Today, the students of the culinary course had their practical exam.  I am so proud of Sharon for how she has put this course together with the help of Deanna and Mario.  The students have benefited greatly.  Pray that they will be creative and courageous as they apply these skills. Pray that there will be many opportunities individually and collectively to practice all that they have learnt.  May God get all the glory.
Enjoying cooking!!

Praise God for health, strength and protection for Abigail, Joshua and Noah!  We do not take this for granted!  All are full of energy and learning new things every day!! We have had a tough month as the twins both chewed through their last dummies and thus had problems getting to sleep and when they woke in the middle of the night couldn't get back to sleep.  Noah also cut through his top two teeth at the same time so we were sleep deprived.  Praise God that we are now getting into routine of sleeping better.  Pray for protection of their little minds and peaceful sleep.

I love my brother!

Look at my teeth!

Noah is on the move!

Joshua wanting to cook this cockroach!

You are so appreciated! We praise God for your partnership through prayer!
